“Having lived in Strathfield for over 25 years, I have been actively involved in issues affecting our local community for many years, well before I was elected to Council in 2017. I look forward to serving our residents as Mayor, continuing the great work of our outgoing Mayor, Councillor Matthew Blackmore over the past 12 months.”
“As Mayor, I am committed to working with our local community, all stakeholders and my fellow Councillors in an inclusive manner to ensure the well-being of all. In my time on Council, I have driven an inclusive community agenda, focused on the needs of our residents. I believe that our Council actively engages our community today, ensuring the success of our Council for our residents and future generations’ benefit, creating a sustainable future for our community”, said Councillor Karen Pensabene.
Mayor Karen Pensabene has displayed her dedication and passion towards our community by previously volunteering with Strathfield Meals on Wheels, assisting local schools with fundraising efforts, providing support to local Seniors, Kidney Health Foundation and Kids on Dialysis. Councillor Matthew Blackmore said he would like to congratulate Councillor Karen Pensabene on her election as Mayor.
“Growing up as a resident in Strathfield, it has been an honour to be elected as a member of Council since 2017. My time as Mayor afforded me the privilege of meeting thousands of residents to discuss local matters close to their heart, and the ability to oversee the delivery of important projects to enhance quality of life and safety in our area. I wish to thank our constituents for placing their trust in me as an elected member of Council. I look forward to working with Mayor Karen Pensabene as Deputy Mayor to continue servicing our local community to a high standard and improve our financial sustainability”, said Councillor Matthew Blackmore.
