A drive-thru and walk-in testing clinic is now operating at:
- Hudson Park Carpark, Mitchell Street, Strathfield
8am – 5pm, 7 Days a week
A walk-thru testing clinic is now operating at:
- Council Carpark located at Albert Road, Strathfield (opposite the train station). The clinic is open from 8am – 4pm, 7 days a week.

Reduced COVID-19 restrictions are in place in NSW from 15 December 2021.
Some rules have changed, including
- density limits no longer apply
- proof of vaccination is not required at many venues
- QR check-in is now only needed for certain high-contact premises, including places of worship
- face masks no longer need to be worn in many indoor areas but are strongly recommended.

Some premises may make it a condition of entry that you are fully vaccinated or wear a face mask.
NSW Health strongly advises people get fully vaccinated and wear a face mask where they cannot socially distance.

NSW Health recommends the best way to protect yourself is to:
- Follow all Public Health Orders including self-isolation and quarantine
- Take extra care if you’re around vulnerable people
- Wear a mask when leaving your home.
- Practice good hygiene:
- Making sure to clean your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub
- Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with a tissue or a flexed elbow
- Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.
- Practice ‘social distancing’, which means keeping a space between you and other people of 1.5m.
- If you develop flu-like symptoms, self-isolate and get tested.

Mental Health
The Government is providing additional funding to support the mental health and well-being of all Australians. If you feel you are experiencing concerns due to COVID-19 (coronavirus), there are two organisations providing support services:
Disability Information Helpline
Have your disability services changed because of COVID-19? The Disability Information Helpline can help – call 1800 643 787. Police are there to support the safety and wellbeing of the whole community at this time of the Coronavirus pandemic. Any breaches will be considered serious, responded to and acted upon by police.
There are several Public Health Orders that apply including social distancing, breaching rules and restrictions, personal hygiene and quarantining or isolating yourself.
Police have the power to issue a penalty infringement notice, or an on the spot fine for violating these orders. This is a fine of $1,000.00 for individuals or $5,000.00 for businesses.

Please note the following Covid-19 requirements
- Proof of double vaccination must be sighted by staff (Covid-19 digital certificate and immunisation history statement accepted).
- Temperature check conducted prior to service
- Wearing of masks is mandatory
- No cash will be accepted
- QR check-in is required

Christmas Hours
Strathfield Council Customer Service Centre will be closed for face-to-face service on Friday 24 December 2021.
Our Customer Service Advisors will be available by phone from 8.30am – 12.00pm and can be reached on (02) 9748 9999.
The Service Centre will re-open on Tuesday the 4 January 2022.
Council is contactable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on (02) 9748 9999.

The Strathfield Library and Innovation Hub is open on:
- Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 6.30pm
- Saturday and Sunday 9am – 1pm
Library Members can continue to reserve and borrow books via the online catalogue and book lockers at Strathfield Library and High Street Community Centre.

Christmas and New Year’s Council Closure
Strathfield Council Library and Innovation Hub will be closed from 12pm on Friday 24 December 2021 and will re-open on Tuesday 4 January 2022.
Strathfield Council parks, reserves and playgrounds are open.
Hudson Park Driving Range is closed.
Council’s Community Venues are open in line with the current Public Health Orders. For more information please click here.
The Dutton Centre remains closed.
Are you elderly, disabled, isolated or otherwise vulnerable? Council has set up a hotline to assist those in the community requiring special help. This is NOT a medical hotline, your best source for medical information is still NSW Health.
The Council hotline is to ensure those in our community who require special assistance are not forgotten. Call 9748 9939 Monday-Friday 8.30am – 5pm.
The Neighbour2Neighbour Program (non-medical) connects vulnerable residents with neighbours who are in a position to help.
Gift of essential items: Strathfield residents and households are encouraged to prepare and register a gift package of non-perishable food and essential personal hygiene items for someone vulnerable.
If you are able to assist, please send your contact details and a list of items you can donate in an email.
Council will contact you to arrange for the collection of your gift when a person requiring help is identified.

Council events during the Sydney lockdown, were cancelled, including the Cooks River Fun Run and all Library programs.
Check the Events Calendar to see if your event or program is going ahead before arriving.
Council is working with the community in a number of ways to ease financial burdens at this time, including free of charge inspections of food premises. Anyone experiencing financial hardship in regards to transactions with Council, are encouraged to call Council to discuss options best suited to your situation, on 9748 9999.
Waste Collection services are running as usual. Residents are reminded to only place your bins out for collection the night before, and to retrieve them off the street as soon as possible after collection.
Residents who allow their bins to overflow will be cautioned, and fines may apply if the practice continues.
Until further notice, the Strathfield Connector is running on a reduced timetable, arriving at bus stops every 60 minutes, between 7am – 7pm.
Extra hygiene measures have been implemented including the availability of hand sanitiser and the sanitisation of surfaces every 2 hours.
