Abandoned Shopping Trolleys are shopping trolleys which have been taken from shops and abandoned or dumped in public places such as streets, nature strips and waterways.

Trolleys can pose a potential danger to residents, visitors and property, especially those left unattended on roads and footpaths which can injure pedestrians or collide with motor vehicles.  Abandoned trolleys also contribute the disorderly appearance of the local environment.  It is an offence to leave a shopping trolley unattended in a public place or dumped in a waterway.

Reporting Abandoned Trolleys

Council encourages the general public to report abandoned shopping trolleys so they can be quickly collected and returned to the store where they belong.

You can report an abandoned trolley to Council by telephone 9748 9999 or by emailing council@strathfield.nsw.gov.au.

Alternatively, you can contact Trolley Tracker. Trolley Tracker is a service that receives reports of abandoned shopping trolleys, collects and returns the trolleys back to stores.  A prize is offered each month, drawn from the names of people who lodge reports to Trolley Tracker.
